Glenn Hole

Registered Audiologist, R.Aud, MSc, BSc (Hons)

Originally from Swansea in South Wales, Glenn has been at Audiology First since it opened in 2015. Under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Copps - one of Alberta's most experienced Audiologists, Glenn has helped Audiology First become Lethbridge's center for excellence in hearing care. Glenn and his wife, Deanna, became the new owners of Audiology First in March 2022. Glenn holds a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Audiology from Bristol University in the UK (2009), an Advanced Studies Certification in Tinnitus and Hyperacusis (2016), and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Audiology from Salus University (2020). Glenn is currently undertaking his Doctor of Audiology AuD degree course and will graduate in 2025.

Glenn is a published researcher with interests in psychoacoustics, hearing aid technology, tinnitus, and hyperacusis. He has given several lectures at the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Society in Calgary and the Lethbridge Seniors Community Organization (LSCO). Outside of work, Glenn enjoys fitness, music, hiking, camping, and spending time with his wife and three young children.

Joseph Tomlinson

Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner

Originally from Scarborough in the UK, Joe joined Audiology First in January 2022. He holds a three-year Bachelor of Science in Hearing Sciences from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, England. He is a member of the College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta. He has over ten years of experience working within hearing aid audiology and has mentored and supervised audiology students several times in the past. As well as being a student there, Joe also worked as a lecturer practitioner at Anglia Ruskin University; he taught, instructed, and was also an examiner for students' practical exams.

In 2019, Joe and his Wife became the parents of a child born with profound hearing loss. This parental understanding of the impact on his child’s life enables him to relate to the patient’s hearing challenges uniquely. Joe believes that counseling patients to help with the psychological and emotional effects of audiological issues (hearing therapy) can make a significant difference to the overall outcome of hearing loss treatment.

Outside of the clinic, Joe enjoys staying active, playing trains with his eldest son, and spending time with his family.
